As a romance novelist, I am a member of several writing chapters affiliated with Romance Writers of America, also known as RWA.   RWA is an organization which works with a membership of 10,000 romance writers to help advance their careers through advocacy, networking and communication. 

Among the 144 chapters of RWA, members can find specialy online chapters geared for the genre they write.  For example, I belong to several chapters for historical romance writers, as well as a wonderful chapter called Kiss Of Death (KOD) which specialize in mystery and romantic suspense. 

Members of RWA usually belong to a local chapter as well.  I am a member of two area chapters, the Dallas Area Romance Authors (DARA) and the Yellow Rose RWA.  Both chapters are amazing and offer great opportunities to meet other authors, learn more about the industry, listen to guest speakers, and work on your craft.   However, since Yellow Rose RWA is just around the corner (so to speak), it is easier logistically (and especially with gas prices such as they are) for me to attend their meetings.

In any event, although Yellow Rose is a small chapter by comparison to DARA, it has many published authors, most of whom are new authors.  I thought it would be interesting to make a video showcasing the books published by our published members to help promote not just their work but our chapter.   Titles range from historicals set in Regency England to Western America,  as well as Contempory Romance, Romantic Supsense and Erotica Romance.   So, check out the video and perhaps one of these wonderful ‘covers’ might strike your fancy.  If you would like more information about one of the authors, please visit the Yellow Rose website at: http://www.yellowroserwa.com/.   You will find a sidebar link to each author’s website and more information on their work.

Oh, and in case the man on the cover of my book (The Sense of Honor) looks familiar to any ladies out there, he is Julian Fantechi who was Playgirl’s Man of the Year for 2007.   Very sweet guy and my book was his first romance cover.  Woo-hoo!   He has since gone on to model for several other romance novels.  He can also be seen in print from everything from fashion modeling to fitness magazine covers.  I even saw him in a huge print ad for Chase Bank — and that was in the lobby of my bank in Texas!   (I have to say the tellers were wondering why I was giggling, but I didn’t expect to see him up there staring down at me.)  But I digress….   

So, apart from The Sense of Honor  being an award-winning, critically acclaimed book — here’s another reason to get it.   Right?   Okay, work with me here.  It could end up being a collector’s item with Julian on the cover!  His FIRST romance cover?  Well, you never know!
